July Showers on Garden Flowers

So many blog posts and so little time….these photos are from the beginning of July, and somehow we are already in the middle of August. I’ve been busy this summer working on so many warm-weather projects; mostly furniture refinishing and gardening related things and while I’ve been taking photos along the way, they aren’t managing to get from the camera to the blog.

Like these flower photos I took after a rainstorm on July 6. It was one of those bright, hot, sunny days without a cloud in the sky, when suddenly I looked out the window and realized there were dark storm clouds to the North. I jumped up and ran outside to take the laundry off the line, first moving at a measured pace, and then gradually moving faster and faster as the raindrops started falling and I managed to grab the last item off the line and leap to safety under the front stoop as the heavens opened and a torrential downpour covered the earth! It must have looked comical to the birds who bore witness. After the rain had passed, I took a walk outside, with my camera.

And now I am finally sharing the photos here.

I hope your summer is going splendidly and I hope to have more posts to share soon!
