Painted Folk Art Valentines
Happy Valentine’s Day, Dear Readers!
This year I made folk art style painted Valentine cards for my friends and family. I started out by making a Victorian “puzzle purse”, and then made some other styles, so each one was unique.
The puzzle purse was hard to figure out how to fold, but once you finally “pop” it into place it makes sense! And there is so much space to fill with fun illustrations and messages, since it’s double sided.
This pop open heart was a fun one to make.
This one spins to say “eye- heart- u- so- much”. I wanted to illustrate a sheep so it would be “eye- heart- ewe” but figured I wouldn’t have space to paint a sheep, haha.
This one, below, would make a cute envelope to hold a little gift…
I accidentally painted this heart envelope one upside down, I should have had the point facing up, so when it opens the heart is upright.
