Hi! My name is Nicole, and I am a self-taught artist from Alberta. I have lived in various rural communities across the province, including the Calgary area, central Alberta and the Peace Country.
I took art lessons throughout high school, focusing mainly on various fine art styles and I still enjoy working with pen, ink and watercolours. It wasn’t until after high school that I decided to turn my attention to photography as a creative medium. My focus in illustrations are often “everyday objects” or are a result of experimenting with different watercolour techniques. I love the unexpected results which watercolour can give, and I often like to add detail with pen and ink after I have finished with the paint. My main inspirations in photography are the landscapes and nature of Alberta, but my subject matter varies widely. My goal is to capture the beauty of the world around us, from the largest expanse to the tiniest detail, and share it in a way that shows not just what I see, but how I see it.
In my shop you can find art prints (unframed or framed), greeting cards, and fun stuff like phone cases.
